COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to give you key customer service, communication, team-working and self-management skills so you can work in the unique and ever evolving Travel and Tourism industry. The subjects you study focus on a number of career areas across the multiple industry sectors such as tour operations, travel agents, the cruise industry, events industry, hotels, airlines and resort representatives. The qualification incorporates a key core of knowledge, skills and understanding allowing you to explore various avenues of successful employment in your travel and tourism job choice. The qualification is assessed through 100% coursework completion over 1 x academic year and its purpose is to give you the opportunities to acquire a number or personal and work related employability skills that you can take with you wherever you go!
FURTHER INFORMATION
The entry requirements are:
- 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above and must include Maths and English ( either literature or language).
OR
- Level 2 Diploma overall Merit grade plus English and Maths at 4 or above.
- Mature students will also be considered.
- All applicants will be invited for interview.
Upon successful completion of the year one introductory diploma at overall Merit grade and 90% overall attendance, you have the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma for year two.
Progression opportunities at the end of the course include higher education routes, apprenticeships or full-time employment in Travel and Tourism. The choice is yours!
You will be assessed continuously through the academic year, starting in September. This course is designed for academic learners who prefer 100% coursework assessment. There are 9 different excellent travel and tourism topics to complete that are assessed in a variety of ways to engage different learning styles that include written reports , essays, written articles, individual role plays, group presentations and some practical team work assessments. You will create an individual portfolio of coursework evidence for completion by the end of the year, covering 27 assignments tasks.
A consumable course fee of ÂŁ20 needs to be paid prior to enrolment for your course.
