Student Services

Lots can happen during your time at college and that’s why our Student Services team is on hand to advise and support you.

CAREERS ADVICE

The Progression+ team includes experts in admissions, careers, higher education, work experience and apprenticeships who offer advice and guidance. They can help with all aspects of careers and progression which includes applying for courses, interview tips, CV writing, application forms, job and apprenticeship searches and gap year opportunities.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

We believe that financial constraints alone should never be enough to prevent a student from studying and so we will work with you to find out what support you may be entitled to and help you to access any funding available.

ADDITIONAL LEARNING SUPPORT

Whether you have a learning difficulty such as dyslexia, need a little extra help with English or maths, have a physical disability, or need additional tuition because English is not your first language, our specialist staff will support you throughout your studies.

SAFEGUARDING

Are you or is someone you know at risk of harm? Do you need help to keep yourself or someone else safe?

Find out contact details of the college’s Safeguarding team and other agencies on our Safeguarding page.

Pastoral Support Tutors

Our Pastoral Support Tutors are here to support you throughout your time at college, and will play a key role in your study programme.

Every student, aged 16-19, has a Pastoral Support Tutor and you will meet with them regularly. Through personal one-to-one discussions, tutors can monitor your progress, track your achievements, support attendance and set targets which will ensure you achieve your goals.

We know there are many factors that can affect you during your time at college. Our Pastoral Support Tutors will work with you and help you through the challenges which may impact on your journey. They will offer intensive support to students who are identified as being ‘at risk’ of not achieving their qualification. This is tailored support, which seeks to remove barriers you may face with the aim to help you get back on track to completing your course successfully.

If you are aged 19 or over, you will be offered support and access to Pastoral Support Tutoring.

Personal Development Programme

Our Personal Development Programme has been designed to help build your skills, attitudes and behaviours to support you within and College and throughout your future life. These sessions are tailored to your specific level of learning as well as the skills and risks in the local community.

Each session will be delivered by your Pastoral Support Tutor through a series of interactive workshops, they will guide you through your College journey as well as inspire and inform your future. The programme will cover a range of topics including social media, how to stay safe, respect and tolerance and creating a positive community.

These sessions will be supported and followed up with one to one conversations with your Pastoral Support Tutor and topics within your curriculum area.

Positive Behaviour Management

Within Chichester College Group we aim to support our students with Positive Behaviour Management when there are barriers to learning or progression.
