COURSE OVERVIEW
Join an exciting and fast paced Hospitality and Catering industry and learn front of house and customer service in a busy cafe and basic cooking skills in a kitchen environment.
This qualification is intended to provide learners with a broad introduction to the hospitality and catering sector, equipping learners with underpinning knowledge and skills specific to the sector alongside a range of transferable employability skills as well as GCSE Maths and English . They are designed to support progression to further learning and ultimately to work in hospitality and catering or other related sectors.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Learners who are 16-18 with Grade 1 in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent functional skills are invited to apply for a department interview.
Learners can progress to a Level 1 certificate or diploma in Hospitality and Catering, Progression targets based on attendance course completion and interview will take place.
This qualification could lead to an entry-level role in hospitality and catering such as porter, housekeeping assistant, kitchen assistant.
The qualification will result in a built portfolio of evidence , tests for each unit and photographic evidence of working in the Hospitality and catering Assessments will take place in a cafe or Kitchen environment. Theory elements will be classroom based.
Uniform for both Kitchen, Chef whites and Front of House will be required. The approximate cost is £400.
Students will also be required to pay a consumable fee at enrolment .
