COURSE OVERVIEW
Level 3
This level is suitable for those who wish to specialise in particular areas of food service, offering an opportunity to achieve the certificate and/or the diploma. This can be taken in a full time environment or as part time by those in employment.
Achieving a Food and Beverage Service qualification can help you work in roles such as:
- Catering/Restaurant manager
- Chef
- Sommelier/Wine waiter
- Waiter/Waitress
This qualification can also help you if you’re interested in running your own business in the hospitality and catering area.
Level 3 is ideal if you have plenty of experience working in the hospitality environment. You want to progress to a role as supervisor in front of house.
If you’d like to advance into a management role, you may wish to progress onto an additional qualification:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
- Level 2 Professional cookery
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is open to those who have a passion for the Hospitality industry and wish to pursue a career at a higher level with in the industry.
Applicants will be required to hold GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths, English and two other GCSE at grade 4 or above.
Applicants will be required to have a industry related work placement.
Progression from this course can be on to a professional Cookery course, Specialist courses such as Patisserie courses. Apprenticeships in Hospitality or Management qualifications Level 3 and Level 4.
Assignment based assessments within a practical restaurant and Kitchen based environment . This course comprises of units which make up the full qualification.
Students will be required to purchase a Kitchen and front of house uniform approx ÂŁ300:00
