COURSE OVERVIEW

For these Food and Beverage Service qualifications you’ll most likely learn in a group environment with your training provider. In some cases, you may be able to complete parts of this qualification on the job, not just training provided in the workplace. You’ll demonstrate what you’ve learned using both practical and knowledge assessments.

Level 3
This level is suitable for those who wish to specialise in particular areas of food service, offering an opportunity to achieve the certificate and/or the diploma. This can be taken in a full time environment or as part time by those in employment.

Achieving a Food and Beverage Service qualification can help you work in roles such as:

  • Catering/Restaurant manager
  • Chef
  • Sommelier/Wine waiter
  • Waiter/Waitress

This qualification can also help you if you’re interested in running your own business in the hospitality and catering area.

Level 3 is ideal if you have plenty of experience working in the hospitality environment. You want to progress to a role as supervisor in front of house.

If you’d like to advance into a management role, you may wish to progress onto an additional qualification:

  • Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership
  • Level 2 Professional cookery

FURTHER INFORMATION

This course is open to those who have a passion for the Hospitality industry and wish to pursue a career at a higher level with in the industry.

Applicants will be required to hold GCSE grade 4 or above in Maths, English and two other GCSE at grade 4 or above.

Applicants will be required to have a industry related work placement.
