GQL E3 Awd in Hair and Beauty Therapy (Beauty)
COURSE OVERVIEW
This introductory course is designed for students who are interested in developing practical skills and confidence in the hair and beauty industry. It provides a supportive environment to explore basic techniques, build independence, and prepare for progression into Level 1 courses.
What You Will Learn
You will develop a range of foundation skills, including:
- Basic hair styling and care techniques
- Introductory beauty treatments (e.g. skincare, nail care)
- Personal presentation and hygiene
- Customer service skills for the salon environment
- Working safely in a hair and beauty setting
Alongside practical work, you will also build key employability skills such as communication, teamwork, and organisation.

Entry Requirements
No formal qualifications are required. This course is suitable for students who are working towards Entry Level qualifications and are keen to develop practical and life skills.

Assessment This course is internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence, including practical observations, written work, and tutor feedback. There are no formal exams.
Additional Costs Students will be required to purchase a hair and beauty uniform and a small kit of essential equipment and materials for practical sessions. Further details and costs will be provided before enrolment.
