COURSE OVERVIEW
Starting in Sept 2024 -This course will run for 1 x day per week (Monday)for a whole academic year, plus 1 x evening per week on a Salon Management Rota basis. (Tuesday or Thursday).
The VTCT Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management is an advanced qualification aimed at those who wish to proceed to employment as a salon manager or senior therapist. Throughout this qualification you will plan the management of products and services for your salon by; analysing data for planning purposes, set operational objectives, monitor working practices, evaluate stock control and equipment levels and provide recommendations to increase salon revenue. You will research, monitor and recommend improvements to ensure the health, safety and security, the quality of client care and management of sales for your salon.

Anyone can apply for this course who has gained a level 3 qualification in beauty therapy.
All candidates should also be in relevant work or have access to work experience to complete these qualifications. Proof of employment will be required at interview stage.
If you are self employed a letter confirming your status could be from your registered accountant, bookkeeper, landlord or financial paperwork could be considered.
This is equivalent to the first year of a foundation degree and therefore 5 GCSE Grade 4-9 is required as a minimum and this must include English and Maths. There is a considerable amount of assignment work and you should have a basic level of knowledge in Microsoft Office in particular Word, PowerPoint and Excel. As a student of CCG you are able to obtain Microsoft Office for free to use throughout your studies.
Your career opportunities as a salon manager exist in variety of contexts including: Opportunities to start or grow your own business, Beauty salons, Hair salons, Nail salons, Beauty/Nail retail concessions in department stores, Day spas, Resort Spas and destination hotel spas as well as Cruise ships.
You can also complete further study at Level 5.
You will be required to develop your research skills and work independently and be very self motivated to meet the required deadlines.
All units will have written assignments and some will have both written assignments and practical assessments to complete the unit /qualification.
The meeting of deadlines is an essential part of the course, so the development of a study schedule to adhere to would show evidence of effective time management and self motivation.
As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence.
Kit and uniform will be discussed in full at the interview and the approximate costs for these would be ÂŁ100 with any additional costs for recommended books should you wish to purchase them.
There is an additional cost of ÂŁ100 to cover consumable items used throughout the duration of the course as well as product training. A book list will be given out at interview and these can be purchased independently or borrowed from a library.
