COURSE OVERVIEW
Indian Head Massage is an ancient art handed down through the generations in India as an integral part of family life.
This part time course is intended for you if you wish to practise the techniques of Indian head massage at a professional level, in a safe and competent manner. This course is suitable for those who have experience in the Hair and Beauty industry and hold a accredited Hairdressing, Barbering or Beauty qualification. This professional course is ideal for expanding your existing skill set and adding to your employability skills.
Successful completion of this course will enable you to obtain insurance to work professionally to a high standard in industry.
Training in the practical skills is underpinned by scientific knowledge of the body systems and chakras involved and the relevant and current health and safety legislation.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Previous experience in body massage or an accredited hairdressing or Barbering qualification is required.
You will have a sound educational background, preferably with knowledge of Human Biology, Anatomy or a related science. Allowance will be made for post-school experience. Attendance to all lessons is essential.
Upon completion of the course, you are able to work in industry as a qualified Indian Head Massage Therapist. This course can also lead to other complementary therapy courses such as Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy.
Practical competences will be assessed using a variety of techniques including direct observation, feedback from the client and reflection. You will be required to demonstrate your capability to perform Indian head massage on a number of different clients. Your knowledge and competence will also be demonstrated through the completion of two online exams. Practical observations will take place in our commercial beauty salons.
There is no requirement to buy kit or uniform for this course but you will need to wear smart and comfortable, plain black trousers, t-shirt and flat black shoes or black trainers.
Course is Self Financing and course fees are £390, due at pre-enrol/enrolment.
