COURSE OVERVIEW

A Level English Language will allow you to explore the ways in which meanings are created in spoken, written and electronic forms of communication. You will practise evaluating the impact of grammatical structures in a range of data extracts ranging from social ‘chat’ to academic materials. Exploring linguistic features enables you to understand how language shapes and creates viewpoints. Language debates are a key element of the course including youth language, social media and gender variation.
