Part L
The Energy Efficiency (Part L) training course has been made appropriate to the requirements of plumbers/ heating installers and gas engineers that need to self-certificate their work via one of the Competent Persons Schemes (CPS) and those that carryout work in new and existing dwellings whilst satisfying the requirements for compliance with Approved Document L1.
Battery Storage
The course material has been designed to meet the requirements of dedicated electrical energy storage systems (EESS) in accordance with the IET Code of Practice for Electrical Energy Storage Systems and the MCS Battery Standard MIS 3012. The installation of these EESS is work that can be carried out by competent, qualified operatives holding appropriate pre-requisite qualifications and the aim of the training course is to ensure individuals have the knowledge and required skills to carry out this work.
Rainwater Harvesting
This is aimed at qualified building services engineers or plumbers wanting to install, commission, maintain and service common rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems. Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.
Ventilation
To provide electricians, plumbers, heating engineers and ventilation engineers with the knowledge and skills to correctly install and commission domestic ventilation systems. The course has been structured to meet the requirements of the Approved Document Part F of the Building Regulations 2020 and is recognised as a demonstration of competence for Competent Person Schemes (CPS).
EV Charging
- 2921-31 Design and installation of domestic and small commercial electric vehicle charging installations.
- 2921-32 Design and Quality Assurance of Largescale electric vehicle charging installations.
- 2921-33 Installation and maintenance of Largescale electric vehicle charging installations.
These have been approved by ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) allowing existing gold card members to add this new suite of qualifications onto their card to showcase their recognised ability to carry out EVC installation services across public and commercial sites.
