Chichester College students showcase work at Pallant House Gallery

27 April 2022

Miniature masterpieces by five Chichester College students were on show at Pallant House Gallery over the Easter holidays.

The five pieces by Milla Roelogse, Megan Masters, Daniel Keyse, Caitlin Balmer and Ruby Moffatt were selected by assistant curator Lydia Miller and learning coordinator Holly Riddle to be displayed as part of the gallery’s ‘Masterpieces in Miniature: The 2021 Model Art Gallery’ exhibition.

Their classmates also saw their artwork on show, as part of a dedicated wall display.

Kasha Sawosko, art & design lecturer at Chichester College, said: “We are so proud to have seen our students’ work on display at Pallant House Gallery.

“It is a fabulous achievement for them and is testament to their talent and hard work.

“The exhibition really showcases the exceptional talents of young people in the Chichester and surrounding areas, and for our students to be included among them is a great honour.”

The exhibition includes work from children and young people from 13 local schools and colleges. Each individual was given a 10cm x 10cm canvas and created miniature works of art in response to works that they encountered on their visit to the gallery.

Lydia Miller said: “We were overwhelmed by the response to this project, and incredibly impressed with the high standard of work from these young artists.

“Each of these miniature canvases is brimming with imagination, originality and creativity – attributes that are paramount to our community, and are vitally important to encourage across our education system.

“These young people have responded to important questions and relevant topics of today.”
