COURSE OVERVIEW
This is a challenging Level 4 course, designed for you if you are 17 years of age and have: 1) achieved the Level 3 DDI qualification and wish to complete your training in order to become a fully qualified and accredited ISTD dance teacher, 2) wish to commence your training to become a fully qualified and accredited ISTD dance teacher. The DDE has been accredited by Ofqual at Level 4 on the QCF which is roughly equivalent to the level attained at first year degree level. Chichester College offer the DDE in Imperial Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You must be at least 17 years of age and hold your Intermediate qualification in the area you wish to study. You must also have 5 GCSEs at 4 grade or above including English and mathematics.
DDE will enable you to work in a variety of independent dance schools across the country and abroad or to establish your own dance school. It is also a valuable qualification for progression to the ISTD Licentiate exam and/or the ISTD Level 6 Diploma in Dance Pedagogy.
You will be assessed via the following methods:
- Unit 1: Tutor-assessed portfolio evidence and online assessment
- Unit 2: Tutor-assessed portfolio evidence and external ISTD moderator
- Unit 3: Practical exam assessed by ISTD examiner
- Unit 4: Practical exam assessed by ISTD examiner
- Unit 5: Tutor-assessed portfolio evidence and on line assessment.
