COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will develop the artistic, creative, technical and professional skills that you will need in order to fully prepare for a varied and high-level career in the dance Industry. You will study a range of dance disciplines including Contemporary, Ballet, and Jazz as well as choreographic, creative, professional and historical studies. A successful first year will enable you to progress to the second year during which you will complete your Extended Diploma (180 credit qualification).
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need either:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language and maths
- A Merit grade from a Dance Level 2 Diploma plus suitable progress in English Language and maths
Dance experience is essential. You will need to complete a successful audition to ensure that the course will meet your needs.
You will be able to seek further vocational training at professional dance schools or university. Former students have progressed to a range of colleges including Bird College, Laban Centre and London Studio Centre. You could also continue to study at Chichester College on a Level 4 or 5 course.
Each of your units will have an assessment, all of which will be internally assessed. The assessments include participation in workshops, performances, technique classes, essays, research and presentations. Each criteria in every unit is only assessed once.
