COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification will develop your current skills and introduce you to new areas of dance. The course aims to develop the artistic, creative, technical and professional skills that a dancer needs in order to prepare for further vocational training. The course offers you a breadth of styles and approaches including contemporary, jazz, ballet, choreography and physical theatre. There is a positive and supportive learning environment and a strong practical focus.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Some dance experience is essential before starting the course. You will be required to attend an audition and prepare a solo for performance to ensure the course will meet your needs.
Upon assessment you will be required to attend Maths and English classes if you achieved a 3 or below in GCSE.
On successful completion of the Dance Level 2 qualification, you can progress to a Dance Level 3 Diploma at the College (through audition) or employment. Popular routes include progression on the Level 3 Diploma in Dance or Musical Theatre.
You will complete a diverse range of assignments, from tutor observation in classes, choreographic projects and live theatre performance to essays, presentations and research projects. You will be assessed both internally and externally and each unit will consist of between 1 to 3 assignments.
If you are over 19 years old, course fees will be ÂŁ4000.
