COURSE OVERVIEW
This if the course for you if:
- You have worked in the hospitality industry for some time
- You have plenty of experience, and you might already supervise others or manage resources
- You want to develop your knowledge and skills, perhaps to move into a management role within the sector
You will learn skills which will reflect subject specialism across the multi- functional nature of the industry.
Please note that we adhere to occupational standards in our realistic working environment.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need at least nine months experience of working in the hospitality industry, OR will have completed a level 2 qualification in Hospitality.
You should be working in an operational role within your organisation in a position that allows you to lead or supervise a team.
You will need level 1 Functional Skills in English and maths.
You can progress to higher education, such as a foundation degree in hospitality or a higher apprenticeship in hospitality management.
You may also progress or be promoted within the workplace.
You will be assessed via range of on going observations and knowledge tests to ensure that you are continually developing the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to meet the Standard and the City and Guilds qualification.
Your competence is assessed by a final synoptic practical assessment supplemented by oral questioning resulting in an end point assessment.
Functional Skills Math and English are assessed through on-line tests.
There is no cost to an apprentice.
If you are an employer employing an apprentice over the age 21 (without an EHCP) then you are likely to pay 5% towards the training cost.
If you are an employer with an Apprenticeship levy (i.e. your payroll exceeds £3 Million) then you will pay in full from your levy account.
