COURSE OVERVIEW
If you are an adult (over 19) and wish to improve your English skills to gain employment, launch a new career or improve your promotion prospects or you want to be able to support your children or just prove to yourself and others that you can do it, then this is the course for you.
You will study number skills, Analysis, SPaG , compression to name a few
The course takes place over one academic year starting in September and ending with 2 exams in May/June the following year.
You will attend one 3-hour lesson per week and will need to complete some self-study during the week.
There are a choice of daytime and evening classes. Some flexibility to swap days is possible to fit in with your shift patterns if necessary
FURTHER INFORMATION
You need a D/ 3 grade in GCSE English or level 2 in Functional skills. If you are a mature student (19+), you will undergo a diagnostic assessment prior to the enrolment process.
GCSE English opens many doors to promotion, higher level courses (e.g. access courses)and even university.
Final assessment will be two exams -; Paper 1 -; Exploration in creative reading / writing
Paper 2 -; Writers view point and perspectives
The course is FREE for most UK residents as long as you do not already have a grade C or grade 4 in GCSE maths.
If you are new to the country you may need to pay. Please check with student services.
