Furniture Making Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is for those already working in the Furniture Making industry.

Furniture making operatives manufacture furniture for domestic, office and commercial settings.

Furniture making operatives make both mass-produced products and individually designed furniture.

They also manufacture the various components needed to produce fitted kitchens, bathrooms or bedrooms. They measure, prepare and mark out materials and set up and operate machinery.

Programme length 18 months, assessment 3 months.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Apprentices must be in paid employment in the relevant industry to cover the requirements of the standard.

You will be invited to an interview with a member of the course team who will help determine your suitability for the apprenticeship programme. You will need to demonstrate your potential to do well on a demanding apprenticeship, including the potential to succeed in your chosen discipline.

Typical qualifications will be GCSE grade 4 in Maths and or English, and a 3 in the other. If you do not have a 4 in both there is a requirement to study towards.
