It’s time to explore our campus to find out about studying at Chichester College.
Why choose this course?
This 8-week evening course is designed for learners who have already completed the Introduction to Furniture Making Course and are ready to develop their skills further.
Drawing on the techniques and experience you have already gained, you will be guided through the creation of a small dovetailed box, helping you refine your accuracy, confidence, and craftsmanship.
During the course, you will be introduced to the use of a homemade router table to create rebates and grooves in small pieces of timber, which will then be used to construct a frame. You will also have the opportunity to create a framed veneered lid for your box, allowing you to explore decorative woodworking techniques and improve your finishing skills.
The course concludes with an introduction to simple finishing techniques, ensuring your completed project is both attractive and durable.
By the end of the programme, you will have produced a handcrafted dovetailed box while gaining valuable experience in joinery, routing, veneering, and wood finishing techniques.
Class times: 18:15-20:45
