Level 1
Football Coaching Year One
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is your first step on the ladder to becoming a football coach. The first year will give you the foundations to progress as a coach, helping you to understand the coaching process and improve confidence in leading a session. You will have the chance to gain real life experience, working in local schools. This one year course will lead to 2 qualifications: Level 1 Award in Principles of Coaching Football and the Level 1 NCFE Certificate in Sport.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need to be at least 16 before 1st September on the year of entry. You need to have a passion for football coaching and working with young people, and a keen interest in progressing into a career in football coaching. You will be asked to provide a reference letter from your previous school or club that demonstrates your suitability to start the course.
After this course you could progress to further coaching qualifications, including FA Level 2. This course could be the start of your career in football coaching, working for professional Coaching in the Community programmes or working abroad. It is also a stepping stone to other vocational areas e.g. coaching, officiating, teaching, personal training.
You will be assessed through direct observations of practical assessments and a portfolio of theory based written work, alongside oral questions and reflective accounts.
You will be required to purchase the Chichester college coaching kit, to be used when representing the college coaching. The price of this varies year to year please contact the college for an up todate quote.
