Entry into The Uniformed Services NCFE Level 3 Diploma

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will provide you with an invaluable insight into a career within any of the uniformed public services.
The course is 9 months in length and students will be assessed using a multitude of methods from practical, portfolio work, group tasks to presentations, and will include many opportunities to gain hands on experience
.
The course involves many visits to industry such as Middle Wallop (Army Air Corp), Foxlease (Outdoor Pursuits), Defence School of Police & Guarding (DSPG), and weekly we undertake leadership training at Barrack Barracks, focussing on a look at life for a British Army Soldier (Uniform is worn during this days training).

We have also embedded the IGNITE course into the programme, where some students will have the opportunity to work within an active fire station for a whole week, we also have many guest speakers and external exhibits who provide dynamic and Up-to-date information on the latest industry developments.

Some of the skills you will develop on the course include, Confidence, Leadership, Communication, many of which you will demonstrated during a week’;s adventurous training in Wales during a visit in March. all of and many of our students go onto successful careers in a public service.

FURTHER INFORMATION

The course does have physical elements, where students will be required to work in a fitness environment, therefore you should have an interest in Physical fitness, Sport and or any of the Uniformed Public Services.

School leavers are required to have a minimum of 3 GCSE’;s at Grade 4 or above. These can include either GCSE English Language or Maths.

Students completing an appropriate Level 2 qualification or equivalent at College should join with a Merit or above and recommendation from their course team, and have shown suitable progress in English and Maths before joining the course.

Any student under 18, who does not have GCSE English or Maths at grade 4 at the start of the course, will be required to sit those subjects alongside their main programme.
