Drawing and Painting – Intermediate – Drawing & Painting with Acrylic Watercolours
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course would appeal to artists who wish to further their creativity and develop their painting and colour mixing skills and techniques. On this course you will work with acrylic, watercolour and mixed media to create a painting of your choice on either a canvas or board.
By the end of the course you will be confident in developing a composition arrangement, extending your painting skills, techniques and colour mixing; and you will produce a final painting.

- Cadmium yellow lemon yellow

- Alizarin red
- Ultramarine blue

FURTHER INFORMATION
This course would appeal to artists who have a basic background knowledge but are looking to further their skills and knowledge to enhance a portfolio or just for enjoyment.
Build a creative portfolio for a part/time art or design course or for creative individuals who want to gain the confidence to work independently with this software.
You can join the Drawing and Painting Advanced course that starts in April 2026. Please speak to your tutor to see if the course would be suitable for you.
Continuous classroom assessment based on Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
Course fees: £140
For the first session you will need to bring:
- A3 Sketchbook
- A3 Mixed Media Paper
- Pen
- Rubber
- Pencil sharpener
- Notebook
- A range of pencils
- Watercolour paints
- Acrylic paints
- Natural form printed images (some will be provided)
Our tutor recommends the following materials:
- System 3 is good acrylic paint to buy
- A lot of white
- Black
- Warm and cool red
- Warm and cool yellow
- Warm and cool blue
- And selection of paint brushes
- Water pot
For the second session you will need to purchase a basic art kit (advice on content will be provided in the first session).
