COURSE OVERVIEW
The level 2 VRQ in Beauty Therapy covers a variety of subject areas, which will allow you to carry out a wide range of professional beauty treatments: Facial skincare Waxing Manicures Pedicures Eye treatments Lash lifting Tanning Nail art Head massage Anatomy and Physiology Client care and retail This exciting course includes knowledge of science relating to the human anatomy and business studies related to beauty therapy practises which focuses on client care, promotion and selling of services and products and working on our Oasis reception in preparation for employment into this fantastic industry. Your training will take place in our well equipped and modern beauty salons at the Chichester Campus, mirroring a real high street salon atmosphere. You will work with brands such Eve Taylor and Mavala, being taught by highly experienced and qualified lecturers. Progression is subject to practical assessments and online exams with tutorial guidance and support. You will study Maths and English alongside this course if you do not have a grade 4 in one of these.

Entry requirements are: Applicants will need to have achieved four GCSE’s at Grade 3 or above. This must include: Maths English Science or PE plus one other GCSE at grade 3 or above in any other subject. If progressing from Level 1 Beauty Therapy: Full completion of study programme 90%+ attendance to overall study programme Maths or English GCSE grade 4, the other at grade 3. Completion of progression interview and activities A successful interview with the course tutor and a keen interest in developing skills for the Beauty Industry.
This course can aid progression onto our Beauty therapy Level 3 qualification or Apprenticeship. Progression into the industry working as a Beauty Therapist in Salons, Spas, Cruise Ships, Airlines, Health Resorts, consultants for skincare houses or as a self employed Beauty Therapist.
Practical formative and summative assessments throughout the year will be performed on peers and members of the public in commercial salons these will be grade Pass, credit or Distinction. Online exams will be compulsory to demonstrate theoretical knowledge.
It is a compulsory requirement of entry onto the course to purchase a variety of kits, books and a uniform, which will approximately cost £300. A compulsory supplement of £60 will need to be paid at the start of term. It is possible to apply for financial support and, if approved, this may contribute towards the cost of this. Your kits will enable you to participate in class. An estimated cost of these can be given at interview and we will confirm cost with you in the summer before the course starts.
