To be an apprentice, you will need to work in the industry that you want for at least 30 hours per week.
You can be employed part time for a minimum of 16 hours per week. However this will extend the duration you have on the programme.
Your employer will need to support your 20% off the job training requirement and help you track achievement of this using the college software once you are enrolled. The 20% off the job training may include college attendance, evidencing workplace activity, attending external events and general tasks which are substantive new skills. Guidance on what does and doesn’t constitute towards off the job training will be given to you and your employer at the start of the programme.
If you do not have an employer in place, then the apprenticeships team at Chichester College can help you to find a suitable role. You can contact the team at apprenticeships@chichester.ac.uk or on 01243 812948.
