RSL Level 3 Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts (Acting)
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Diploma in Acting course provides you with exciting and practical training that demands a strong professional focus and a high level of commitment and stamina. The Acting department is supportive and friendly and is dedicated to preparing passionate individuals to a professional standard. Each year group works as a theatre company that aspires to excellence. Workshops, rehearsals and live performance develop and test your skills as an actor and equip you mentally and physically for the industry.

You will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language or English Literature and Maths.
You must also complete a successful audition.
This course can lead you to a place at a drama school. For example, former student have attended East 15, Rose Bruford, and The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. It also opens up an exciting variety of roles within the sector to you – alumni work professionally as puppeteers in touring shows, as stunt and circus artists, in film and television and in West End and touring theatre productions such as the Mousetrap, Sunset Boulevard, and A Midsummer-Night’s Dream.
You will be assessed through a range of diverse and interesting projects on performance techniques such as acting for auditions, voice, and Greek, Elizabethan, Contemporary and physical forms of theatre. Your practical knowledge and wider knowledge of theatre and its histories will be assessed through rehearsals, in live performances, in reflective logs and presentations.

- Ancient Greek and Roman Theatre
- Comedy Drama in Performance
- Physical Theatre
- Improvisation (Acting)
- Theatre Genres
- Vocal Techniques and Performance (Acting)

There are a number of trips to theatres and there may be extra workshop fees
This is a two year programme and you will be required to pass year 1 with a Merit grade or above and have at least 85% attendance
