COURSE OVERVIEW
Applicants will need to be working in a residential childcare environment where they will be observed in practice participating in meetings and supporting children/young people on a daily basis, to include key-worker sessions, supporting educational potential, promoting well-being and managing socially acceptable behaviour. Learners will complete project packs as part of their portfolio of evidence, while developing and consolidating knowledge and skills. They will be allocated an assessor who will meet with them every 4-6 weeks to support learners with their portfolio work and to also observe and discuss their practice. The diploma consists of 19 units and is vocational with no exam.
This qualification is a mandatory requirement by Ofsted to work in the Residential Childcare setting.

Learners will need to be working or on practical placement in a residential childcare setting.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
Assessment will take place in the workplace, with a dedicated Assessor who will meet with the learner every 4-6 weeks to collate evidence and support learners to build their portfolio, as well as observing and discussing their practice. Assessors will plan targets and meetings with the learner, mark and assess learner’s evidence and provide feedback to promote growth and development in learning.
