Professional Cookery Level 2 Diploma


This course is for you if you would like to become a professional chef and will inspire you to be the best . You will build on skills you have learnt from previous experience and release your passion , preparing you to work in the creative, challenging and rewarding environment of the hospitality industry.

Along with the preparation and cooking Skills you will acquire, also include Professionalism, Teamwork, self management, personal development, Food Safety and hygiene ,a strong work ethic, adaptability and resilience for this, sometimes tough industry. You will also work in our state of the art restaurant, both preparing and serving fresh ‘on Trend’ fresh foods and Menus, as well as visiting and working alongside guest chefs from industry. We run a commercial hospitality operation within the college which will give you plenty of enterprise opportunities to prepare for your future. Please note that we adhere to occupational standards within our realistic working environment.


School leavers Route

You will need 4 GCSEs including a Food Tech GCSE at Grade 4 or above and either English or Maths at 4 or above. The remaining 2 required GCSEs should be a grade 3 or above.

Progression Route from Level One NVQ Hospitality

Successful completion of full study programme level 1 in hospitality/catering.

GCSE Grade 4 in either English or Maths and 95% attendance.

19 plus/Adult

Successful application and Interview.

All students will be required to secure a 1 day week industry related work placement for the duration of the course.
