Level 1

IMI L1 Awd in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Awareness

The purpose and aim of the IMI electric/hybrid vehicle qualification is to instruct individuals from the retail automotive industry and the public service sector (for example, members of the emergency services, who may attend an accident involving an electric/hybrid vehicle) in the maintenance, service, and/or handling of electric/hybrid vehicles. This unit is designed for those people who may encounter electric/hybrid (all variations) vehicles and require safety awareness. It is suitable for non-technical people such as managers, valeters, parts, sales and aftersales, event staff, vehicle recovery personnel, vehicle dismantlers, vehicle damage assessors and electric/hybrid professional vehicle drivers. It contains the knowledge of the dangers surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles (all variations) and the precautions to avoid potential injury.

There are no pre-requisites for this single unit qualification, however, it is recommended that learners will have 3 GCSEs, or Scottish Standard Grade/Intermediate in Mathematics, English and a Science based subject.
