COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed for learners who wish to progress onto a Level 1 programme but need some extra support to attain the goal, as well as improving their English and Maths skills.
An individualised programme is developed for each learner based on their Educational Health Care Plan outcomes and vocational study programme options.
The learning programme will be designed to meet the individual students’; needs and help them fulfil their aspirations. Regular progress reviews will be held in partnership with the learner -; this may include parents, carers and other professionals.

This course is for you if you are working at Entry 3 level and looking to progress onto Level 1 vocational or academic courses, employment in future, supported internship or want to build on your existing skills.
During the programme the learner will infill into various vocational pathways across the college, this will enable them to make a more informed choice of their vocational pathway and progression.
This might include progression onto a Level 1 vocational course, Supported Internship, an Apprenticeship or employment.
This will be reviewed throughout the learner’;s time at college and discussed at progress and transition reviews in terms of individual pathway.
The learner will achieve a NCFE Level 1 Award in Occupational Studies for the Workplace which develops a variety of key skills which easily transfer to employment or further studies. You will be assessed practically, through verbal and written work, and will produce a portfolio of evidence.
Maths and English functional skills and GSCEs are included as part of the program.
There is a mandatory cost of £35 at the beginning of term. You will also need to make payments towards cookery lessons, or group trips.
