COURSE OVERVIEW
Are you concerned about the future of our planet? Ever wondered why more flooding and wildfires are reported on the news? This short course aims to provide a basic overview of the problems surrounding climate change, its causes and impact on the planet on which we live. This course explores the nature of climate change and the roles that individuals, businesses and other organisations play in helping to reduce carbon emissions.
Over the 5 weeks we will cover the following topics:
- The environment and society
- Key challenges facing the environment
- Climate change and the causes of global warming
- Sustainability and sustainable development
- Industry and the environment
The course will be delivered using a range of resources and tools and will highlight some key climate change and sustainability projects.
This course starts on Wednesday 15 January 2025 (18:00 – 20:00)
FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is suitable for adults (19+) wanting to increase their knowledge and understanding of climate change and environmental awareness.
Your tutor will advise you on options for further study.
Continuous classroom assessment based on Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement (RARPA).
Course fees: £75
A notebook and pen will be useful to take notes.
