The RCN Prince of Wales Nursing Cadet Scheme gives 16 – 25 year old members of youth organisations an introduction to potential careers in nursing and health and social care, through health care related learning modules and a clinical observational placement.

About the course
We will start the course by equipping the learners with the skills they need to complete the course. This includes a session on developing effective study skills and understanding the learning process. Following from this, the subjects that we are covering are:
- Communication & Confidentiality
- Working in the health sector
- Equality and Diversity
- Duty of care & Person centred approach
- Safeguarding
- Basic Life Support
- Moving and Handling
- Dementia Care
- Infection Prevention and Control
- Wellbeing & Resilience
- Security Measures & Aggression
- Health and Safety
Followed by 20 hours of work placement.
