Chichester College graduate secures prestigious Royal Academy exhibition
Arthur William, a recent Art & Design graduate from Chichester College, wowed audiences this summer as their work featured in the Royal Academy’s Young Artists’ Summer Show.
Arthur’s A2 lino print explored AI’s rise and fall through Mannerism, depicting its journey from innocence to corruption and ultimate self-destruction – a powerful reflection on ambition, greed, and the consequences of unchecked power.
Selected from over 23,000 submissions, his work was one of 545 pieces exhibited both online and at the Royal Academy in London. It was also shortlisted by Cathie Pilkington, Keeper of the Royal Academy, for a ‘Most Inspiring’ prize.
The exhibition highlighted the creativity and talent of young artists aged 4 to 18 from across the UK, celebrating their artistic achievements on a national stage.
Reflecting on the experience, Arthur said:
“Having my art displayed in the Royal Academy was a fantastic experience. I felt unbelievably honoured to be included in such a diverse selection of work from so many young artists.
“It was great to see so many incredible pieces in every medium. The creativity in the room was outstanding, and I think anyone who is lucky enough to see the exhibition will be inspired to start making art.”
His work was displayed at the Royal Academy during the summer, and featured in the exhibition’s online gallery, where it was viewed by thousands of visitors both in person and online.
