Proud celebrations are in order at Chichester College for the success of a talented Data Analyst Apprentice who has been appointed as an Apprentice Ambassador for the South-East by the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network (AAN).

Greg Liddlelow, who works as a Performance Officer at Brighton & Hove City Council, is one of more than 50 ambassadors in the South-East. He described how he became an Apprentice for the South-East, saying:

“Once, I signed up as an apprentice, I got an email which said that they (AAN) got my details from my employer, as I had just become a new apprentice, and they offered the opportunity to join the ambassador’s network.

“I would absolutely recommend it, because even if it’s still early in my case, I definitely see the benefits of it, and then for someone wanting to enter this space, it’s definitely going to bring some benefit as well. I don’t see it as a negative in any way.”

The AAN brings together employers and apprentices, past and present, who volunteer their time to inspire others. Ambassadors attend careers fairs, school visits, and employer events, sharing their experiences to highlight the value of apprenticeships.

Greg also explained what drew him to his apprenticeship, saying:

“Over my working career, I’ve always been that person who was also always quite analytical. Before I received any formal Excel training, I was the Go-to person for Excel.

“I think one of the things for me, which I find quite interesting, is data storytelling and how you can use data to get your point across, and I see this course as an opportunity to enable me to do that in my current role.

Reflecting on his apprenticeship so far, Greg added:

“So, I started on the programme in March of this year, and I’m still quite stoked about it. It’s something that I have always wanted to do, and I enjoy it. It dovetails nicely with my role at the moment, and I’ve got a lot of opportunities to apply the skills that I’ve been learning for the program so far.”
