GTR celebrates apprentices in the fast lane for career success
The success of apprentices at GTR Composites, part of the GTR Group, was celebrated earlier this month.
The special award ceremony marked National Apprenticeship Week and was a celebration of their level 3 composite technician apprentices, who have achieved their full apprenticeship.
Chichester College has collaborated with GTR in the training of 31 apprentices since 2017, with cohorts starting at the company each year, taking those important steps towards an exciting career with one of the leading composite manufacturers in motorsport.
The college’s Steve Scanlon, lecturer in engineering, and Louise Woods, apprentice coach, were both invited to the celebration and gave out certificates.
Steve said: “It was a great to be involved in celebrating the achievements of these young people, who have worked hard to achieve their full apprenticeship – the cohort achieved an overall success rate of 78%, which is way above the national average of 51.8%.
“Of this group, nine have now progressed onto a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician apprenticeships and I’m sure they will all go on to enjoy bright futures.”
Jeff Tinsley, Head of Learning & Development at GTR and CCG associate lecturer, said: “The completion of the 2019/2022 cohort apprenticeship and the success rate of their End Point Assessments is one of the proudest achievements in the history of the company and we are all very proud of the 14 Technicians who received their certification at the award event.“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Chichester College as we continue our strategic staff development programme with our latest intake of 9 students who began their level 3 learning with GTR in September 2019.”
