Students’ university visit takes digital exploring to new level
T Level students from Chichester College recently visited the University of Portsmouth’s CCIXR (Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality) to challenge their skillsets.
The group of second year digital T Level students were invited to the campus for an opportunity to not only gain university experience but to focus on industry specific sectors to widen their future career goals.
The students were able to experience new equipment and activities in the following:
- Motion Capture
- Location Based Experience Virtual Reality Development Space
- Volumetric Capture
- Photogrammetry
- Spatial Computing
- Sound Studio
- Virtual Reality Lab
- Simulation Lab
- Mixed Reality Tech Lab
Nathan Smith, Study Programme Lead in STEM, said: “It was honestly such a fantastic opportunity for our students.
“They were able to try new state-of-the-art digital equipment, gain information and understanding of where the industry is going and see how they could apply this technology within their own course and potential future careers.”
