Students stand out and shine bright at art exhibition

24 June 2022

The launch of the ‘FUTURE ARTISTS EXHIBITION’ has enabled budding artists from Chichester College to showcase their work.

Last week, the exhibition was unveiled to members of the public, who can now find the hidden treasures of artwork at Chichester University’s Bognor Campus until Saturday 2 July.

The launch saw college’s level 3 art and design students and A-level art students displaying their selected artwork alongside ten other schools and colleges across West Sussex and Hampshire.

Organised by Tim Sandys -Renton, senior lecturer from Chichester University, the purpose of the event was to reveal ‘choosing art as a positive option’.

A particular highlight of the night saw Daniel Keyse win the prize for best work from Chichester College.

Daniel was thrilled and said: “My experience at the Chichester University Future Artists’ Exhibition was special because it’s the first time I have had my original artworks up on a gallery wall for the public to see.

“It was a real privilege to collect an award for my hard work during my time at Chichester College.”

The exhibition also allowed lecturers to take a step back from their roles of teaching and take a moment of reflection and pride towards their students.

Kasha Sawosko, lecturer in art & design at Chichester College, said: “What a fantastic launch last Friday was.

“Our students have spent countless hours on their projects and to see them getting the recognition they deserve is so important and crucial to their studies.”
