Chichester College media students are welcoming the opening of a new TV studio facility on the campus.

The college has invested in setting up the facility, with green screen technology, which will give students on media courses the opportunity to gain experience of working in a studio environment.

They will use the studio for projects as well as creating broadcast-ready content that will be streamed on the college’s YouTube pages.

Andrew Davies, Head of Learning for Creative & Performing Arts at the college, said: “This is a fantastic facility which is equipped with technology you would find in TV studios around the world.

“It’s vitally important that we’re giving our students the opportunity to learn their craft by equipping them with the tools and experiences they need to get ahead.

“Chi College TV will give them that opportunity and I am very much looking forward to seeing the amazing work they create in the new studio.”

Helen Loftus, Interim Principal at Chichester College, and Andrew Green, Chief Executive at the Chichester College Group, were on hand to cut the ribbon and officially open the studio.

Helen added: “This is a wonderful studio and I’m sure it will be hive of activity for our students and staff.

“Our media students create some fantastic work, and I’m sure this facility will see them reach another level as they get to grips with what it’s like to work in a real studio environment.”

Applications are open for September 2022. To find out more about studying media at Chichester College, check out our course pages
