Chichester College: Investing in your Future

Two new state-of-the-art buildings are set to put Chichester College at the cutting edge of training delivery.

Two new state-of-the-art buildings are set to put Chichester College at the cutting edge of training delivery. One building is an exciting £26.4 million STEM and Higher Education (HE) Centre and the other is an innovative £2.9m T Level Block.

Work is well underway on both projects and they are both expected to open next year.

STEM & HE CENTRE

This building will stand at four storeys tall and will be home to a suite of modern teaching and interactive spaces, which will be used to integrate the use of new technology.

On the ground floor, modern automotive workshops will house facilities enabling students to train with electric and hybrid vehicle technology, as well as petrol and diesel vehicles. The first floor will house dedicated suites for engineering and computing and the second floor will host an array of modern science laboratories.

The top floor will be a dedicated HE centre, with study spaces designed to meet the needs of students across a range of university-level courses.

This building sits in the heart of the campus and replaces the college old ‘F Block’ on the site, which was demolished last summer.

The new facility has been funded by a grant from the Department for Education, alongside capital funding from the Office for Students for a Higher Education Centre.

Helen Loftus, Principal of Chichester College, said: “Our new STEM and HE Centre will be an exciting addition to our campus. The new STEM facility will enhance the way we teach and enable us to develop new courses to train the future workforce in a wide range of specialisms.”

The STEM & HE Centre will open in Autumn 2025.

T Level Centre

We’re excited to also see work underway on our new specialist T Level Centre.

This building will see the refurbishment of the campus’s old music block to bring a new innovative space for our T Level studies.

It’ll include:

  • Digital design spaces with the latest technology
  • A green screen studio
  • Immersive learning spaces
  • New, Purpose-built classrooms

T Levels are a fairly new qualification that have been developed as an alternative to A-levels and will give students the real experience of the workplace by combining classroom study, practical learning and a three-month industry placement.

Developed in collaboration with employers and businesses, we’re delighted to be welcoming dedicated spaces for students to thrive in their T Level journeys.

Work is expected to be complete in Spring 2025.

The project is being funded through a Department of Education grant, as part of the Government’s T Level Capital Buildings and Facilities Improvement funding.

Greener Buildings

Sustainability is key to the design of both buildings, reinforcing our commitment to our journey towards Net Carbon Zero, using technology that will reduce carbon emissions and generates sustainable energy.
