COURSE OVERVIEW
On this one day bread course you will have the opportunity to make three varieties of bread, and this will include recipes to take home.
- Fougasse Bread
- Malted Granary Honey Bread
- Pain de Campagne (Basic White round cob loaf )
You will learn about different breadmaking ingredients and how the use of these will produce different varieties of bread. You will learn how to use your senses to judge when the doughs are mixed, fermented, proved and baked. The products may vary based on available ingredients and resources.
Saturday session: 9:30 – 15:00
FURTHER INFORMATION
Ideal for complete beginners or those with an interest to learn new practical craft skills in artisan bread making techniques by hand.
Complete Artisan Bread Making 2 and 3 or one of our other Hospitality courses: Baking Pizzas; Baking Christmas Treats; Cooking for Good Health.
Individual/group discussion/evaluations of the practical work achieved.

Please bring with you to the session:
- Cooks apron (cloth or plastic)
- Pen and paper
- Apron and tea towel
- Oven cloth
- Scissors
- Bakers’; scraper
- Scales
- Small paring knife
- Pastry brush
- Containers to take items home
Please wear sensible shoes (no open toed shoes such as sandals, flip flops or high heels). Clothed shoes such as leather shoes or trainers would be preferable. Please ensure that your legs are suitably covered to protect yourself (no shorts). No Jewellery.
Additional costs : Small equipment such as a baker’s scraper, pastry brush and proving baskets should you wish to purchase.
