Printmaking Beginners- Part 2

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course aims to give students a foundation introduction to many aspects of printmaking art, covering a range of traditional and contemporary techniques.

On the course, you will explore a range of basic printmaking techniques This fun and varied course covers a range of traditional and contemporary techniques including: Monoprint, Collagraph, Dry Point Etching (Intaglio), Stamping, Lino Printing (single), and Paper Stencils. Topics that are covered include: pattern making and printing-on to various fabrics, such as: tote bags and cushion covers. We also look at identifying and using the right print materials, as well as covering various art and print moments in history and colour theory.

By the end of the course, you should be able to explore this exciting subject further by having the confidence and creative abilities to work-on print projects and subjects at home or attend further lessons in the following terms. The course also can help to build a portfolio of creative pieces for furthering your artistic studies within the College.

This course starts on Thursday 16 January 2025 (18:00 – 20:30)

Please note this course does not run in the college half term or end of term breaks.

Adults over 19 with little experience or some printmaking experience and/or those with a background in art who wish to build a creative portfolio.
