COURSE OVERVIEW
The aim of this qualification is to inspire and enthuse you to consider a career in the health and social care sector. It will give you the opportunity to gain a broad knowledge and understanding of and develop skills in the health and social care sector. You will be supported with your progression into a more specialised level 3 vocational/academic health and social care course or an apprenticeship, which will give you the potential opportunity to enter employment within a wide range of job roles.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need to be at least 16 before 1st September on your year of entry. You will need 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language.
You will need an enhanced Disclosure and Barring service check and provide two satisfactory references.
Students progressing from our Level 1 programme have to have achieved a grade 3 in GCSE English Language and 7 units, which have been extended.
You could move on to a more specialised level 3 vocational or academic Health and Social Care course or an apprenticeship, which will give you the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment within a wide range of job roles.
You will study 2 externally assessed units alongside a range of internally marked assignments. This will provide evidence of your learning, which will assist you to progress into either further vocational study or to a related academic qualification.
You will be required to purchase the course and exam revision textbooks to support your studies.
