Data Analyst Level 4 Apprenticeship
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship equips learners with the essential skills to collect, organise, and study data to help businesses make data-driven decisions. Designed with industry needs in mind, this programme focuses on technical proficiency in data tools and statistical techniques, while also developing broader analytical thinking and communication skills.
Learners will work with real-world datasets, build dashboards, generate insights, and present findings in clear, business-relevant formats. This is an ideal route for those looking to advance their career in data or transition into analytics from related fields.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Applicants should have: – GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) – A good working knowledge of Excel – Ideally some exposure to data handling or a related technical role
We also welcome applicants with equivalent qualifications or experience in IT, business analysis, or STEM subjects.

On completion, apprentices will be well-prepared for roles such as:
– Data Analyst/ Manager – Business Intelligence Analyst – Reporting Analyst – Marketing/Data Insight Assistant
Many learners progress onto Level 5 or degree-level apprenticeships, or into specialised roles in finance, health, marketing, or operations.
Throughout the apprenticeship, learners will gain expertise in:
– Data collection, validation, and cleansing
– Data analysis using tools like Excel, SQL, Python and Power BI
– Data visualisation and dashboard development
– Statistical analysis and data modelling
– Data governance, ethics and compliance
– Communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders
– Agile and project-based working approaches
Delivery:
– Blended learning model: online tutorials, live workshops, and self-paced assignments
– One-to-one coaching from experienced data professionals
– Regular employer reviews and support
Assessment:
– Practical workplace projects
– Portfolio of evidence
– Synoptic project
– An end-point assessment (EPA) with an independent assessor
There is no cost to an apprentice.
If you are an employer employing an apprentice over the age 21 (without an EHCP) then you are likely to pay 5% towards the training cost.
If you are an employer with an Apprenticeship levy (i.e. your payroll exceeds £3 Million) then you will pay in full from your levy account.
You will need access to a laptop or computer and be able to install software packages to enhance your training
