Body Massage Level 3 Award
COURSE OVERVIEW
This part time course is intended for you if you wish to practise the techniques of body massage at a professional level, in a safe and competent manner. Successful completion of this course will enable you to obtain insurance to work professionally in industry.
Training in the practical skills is underpinned by scientific knowledge of the body systems involved and the relevant and current health and safety legislation.
FURTHER INFORMATION
No previous experience in body massage is required. You will have a sound educational background, preferably with some knowledge of Human Biology, Anatomy or a related science. Allowance will be made for post-school experience. Attendance to all lessons is essential.
Upon completion of the course, you are able to work in industry as a qualified body massage therapist. This course can also lead to other complementary therapy courses such as Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage, Sports and Remedial
Practical competences will be assessed using a variety of techniques including observation, feedback from the client and reflection. You will be required to demonstrate your capability to perform body massage on a number of different clients. Your knowledge and competence will also be demonstrated through the completion of two online examinations.
There is no requirement to buy kit or uniform for this course but you will need to wear smart and comfortable, plain black trousers, t-shirt and flat black shoes, trainers.
