Providing the Pathway

In partnership with Worthing Football Club, this is a full-time football and education course which gives aspiring young players the opportunity to combine their academic studies with a comprehensive football training schedule.

Worthing Football Club Education Programme

The Worthing FC Under 19 Academy gives aspiring young players the opportunity to combine their football ambition with their academic studies at Chichester College.

About the training

You will gain an insight in to the professional football environment with up to 6 hours of practical training per week as part of your football/study programme.

Professional coaching from the Worthing FC First Team Manager, Adam Hinshelwood, and represent Worthing Football Club and compete in the National League. You’ll also use the state-of-the-art facilities at Worthing Football Club and Chichester College.

Joining a course

At Chichester College, you will have the opportunity to study a full range of courses in the sports department that include sport, sports science, football coaching, uniformed public services and fitness training.

Courses are progressive from level 1 up to level 3. Applications to these different levels are dependant on your GCSE results and all are free at source for students between the ages of 16-19.

All courses are staffed by fully qualified teachers. Football coaching at the college is excellent and all coaches are minimum UEFA B License holders. You will have the opportunity to attend visits and trips associated with your chosen subject area related to your studies. If you do not have a grade 4 in English and Maths you will attend weekly timetabled sessions in these subjects.

If you choose Chichester College and want to study other subject areas, these are also open for you to apply. These include: construction, bricklaying, plumbing, electrical, art, design & media, hospitality, tourism and many more. All these courses are available for application through the college website.

The college also provide financial assistance for travel, dependant on your parent/guardian’s annual income. Currently the threshold for this is ÂŁ34500.
