COURSE OVERVIEW
Our Towards Independence programme will enable you to become as actively independent and productive as possible in your community as well as preparing you for adult life. Areas of study will be:
- Communication and social skills
- Healthy living and well being
- Money and shopping skills in the in the community
- Independence skills and keeping safe
- Practical and countryside projects
- Cultural and creative skills
- Maths, English and ICT
- Transition and life planning

This course is for you if you are keen to learn new skills to help you reach your potential.
Following the success of your programme, there will be a planned transition onto a higher level course or Community run projects, if more appropriate. You will have worked to develop your potential to live as independently as possible.
We will provide you with an engaging and stimulating environment with many opportunities to develop your potential and learn new skills. We will work with you to enable you to successfully progress and transition into the next stage of your life. Your progress will be reviewed throughout the year and measured through individual target setting. Your development will be discussed at regular Progress and Transition Reviews.
