Make the most of your Smartphone – Android

COURSE OVERVIEW

The main aim of this course is to help you make the most of the wide range of tools and functions on your Android smartphone or tablet device. Our hands-on and practical course will help you to be confident in using the Internet, sending and receiving emails, using the camera for photos and video, using social media and other apps. It will also include information on how to stay safe online and understand the security settings on your device. Over the 5 weeks we will cover the following topics:

• Understanding your device’;s features, tools, and settings.
• Using the Internet, including how to use Google search and Google tools.
• How to use your device settings to help you stay safe online.
• Google Cloud services -; including Google Drive and for storing and sharing.
• Applications that can enhance your Smartphone experience.
• How to install, update, and uninstall applications.
• Using the camera, music, and other medial tools.
• Managing your photo gallery, editing photos and sharing media content.
• Video calling -; using Zoom and other apps.
• Reading books or magazines online.
• Online storage -; managing your content efficiently to optimise storage.
• Inserting a storage card on your device.
• Connecting to other devices -; using Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

This course starts on Thursday 16 January 2025 10:00-12:00 and runs for 5 weeks.

Please note this course does not run in the college half term or end of term breaks.
