COURSE OVERVIEW
Are you looking to run your own business or become a successful manager? Dreams of being your own boss of a restaurant, coffee shop or bakery? Perhaps travel the world in Hotel Management? or perhaps you’d like to work for a large company organising Events? If any of those careers sound appealing then this is the course for you. This Level 3 BTEC National Diploma (equivalent to 3 x A Levels after two years with the completion of the Extended Diploma in Hospitality) and the other qualifications you will gain are recognised and valued by employers across the world. This course prepares you for employment nationally and internationally in a vast range of Hospitality careers, in a supervisory role, a kitchen role, or a route to university. You will have the opportunity to participate in visits and residential trips. Please note that we adhere to occupational standards within our realistic working environment. This offers the opportunity to become an integral member of an outstanding team and to build self confidence.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English or an appropriate L2 Hospitality Qualification with suitable progression in Maths and English, relative work experience and an exemplary report required at interview. You will also need good communication skills, passion and confidence when working individually or as a team.
You can progress to a second year extending to a full diploma, full time employment, professional cookery in culinary Arts, patisserie course or an apprenticeship route. Past students have gone on to study at Universities across the country, joined Hotel Management programs and are now working for some of the top Hospitality Industries.
You will be assessed through a programme of planned assignments, reports, case studies and practical demonstrations. You can receive Pass, Merit or Distinction grades which equate to UCAS points if you are looking to study at University. Units you will study over the two years include: Customer Service Asian & European Cuisine Patisserie Finance Human Resources E-Business and Marketing Personal Selling & Entrepreneurship Alcoholic Beverages Food & Drink Service Event Planning & Management Supervisory Skills The Hospitality Industry Personal Development Contemporary Cooking
You will require full college kit and uniform, plus a consumable payment will be taken at enrolment. Financial support is available to those who are eligible, you can find out more in the College Life section of our website. Approximate costs of £100 for Chefs and Front of House uniform.  Course consumables for this course are £50 payable on the day prior to enrolment.
