COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is for those already working in the Furniture Making industry.
Furniture making operatives manufacture furniture for domestic, office and commercial settings.
Furniture making operatives make both mass-produced products and individually designed furniture.
They also manufacture the various components needed to produce fitted kitchens, bathrooms or bedrooms. They measure, prepare and mark out materials and set up and operate machinery.
FURTHER INFORMATION
You will need to employed as an apprentice working in the furniture industry.
Applicants will be interviewed for suitability.
You can progress to a level 3 qualification, you may attend specialist course to help you to develop further craft skills.
A level 3 apprenticeship is available for those wishing to continue in developing skills to a higher level.
Ongoing Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours are developed and assessed throughout the apprenticeship.
The Apprenticeship is then formal assessed via and End Point Assessment (EPA)
An EPA is an assessment at the end of your apprenticeship. It will assess you against the knowledge, skills, and behaviours (KSBs) in the occupational standard. Your training will cover the KSBs. The EPA is your opportunity to show an independent assessor how well you can carry out the occupation you have been trained for.
You will need to pride your won safety boots and suitable workwear for the workshop environment.
