EDX L4 HN Flex Leadership and Management Unit 1 – Contemporary Business Environment
COURSE OVERVIEW
Business activity is fundamental and universal to our everyday lives. Business organisations may differ in many ways, depending on the industry in which they operate globally, but they do share one common feature: the transformation of inputs into outputs. This transformation process takes place against a background of external influences that impact on business activity. The external environment in which business organisations operate is dynamic, complex, volatile and interactive. The aim of this unit is to give students background knowledge and understanding of business, the functions of an organisation and the wider business environments in which organisations operate.
This unit is part of the HND Leadership and Management qualification and is taken from the first year and is L4 unit.

Anyone can join this module. Preferably you will have:
- GCE A’; Levels or Level 3 Diploma or an Extended Diploma (Overall Merit)
- Relevant work experience
- GCSE Mathematics and English Language at grade 4/C or above
- English as a second language at IELTS 6.0 or equivalent

After completion of the module you can complete another single module or you can enrol on the full HNC or HND. This module will be used towards completion of this full L4 qualification.
You will be assessed through assignments. For this module you will need to produce some fact sheets and write a report.
