Cloud Basics for Everyday Life

The main aim of this course is to introduce you to the wide range of storage and communication tools which are available through ‘cloud technologies’; via your smartphone, tablet, and computer. Cloud technology has revolutionised data storage and expanded the range of communication tools we can now use. On this course we will consider the following topics as we explore the benefits of using cloud solutions in your everyday life:

  • How to access your files from any device, anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection. This means that your precious memories and important documents are not just stored on your computer or phone but also duplicated in a secure space online
  • Understanding how the Cloud backs up your files so that your data remains safe and sound
  • The enhanced security measures that the Cloud provides which keep your data safe
  • How to share photos and documents with family and friends without the need to mail physical copies
