C&G 7131-04 L1 NVQ Cert in Hospitality Services


This is a hands on practical course designed for anyone who would like to get involved with a career in the hospitality industry either as a chef or front of house. You will spend the majority of your time in our café, kitchens and restaurant, learning all of the skills you need to kick start your career.

You will learn all of the basics including health and safety and food safety, how to work as part of a team, customer service and how to cook using a wide range of ingredients and cooking methods.

Over the year you will put together a portfolio of your work which you will be able to show potential employers when interviewing for jobs.

All of the hospitality lecturers here at Chichester College are passionate about training others and they have all worked for many years within the industry in a diverse range of job roles including the Army and Navy as chefs, hotel, restaurant and nightclub managers, events and wedding co-ordinators and patisserie chefs.

The study program of all learners under the age of 19 will include Math and English if you have not already achieved a grade 4 GCSE in these subjects.


Students with at least 4 GCSE’s at grade 3 or above to include Math and or English.

How to apply

Once you have created an account, you can easily apply to your chosen course and track the status of your application at any time.


Step 1

Set Up Your Account

You’ll be prompted to create an account which will allow you to log in to our Application Tracker website whenever you wish. This will provide you with important information and you can also track the progress of your application.

Complete each step of the application form and then submit your completed form. We’ll let you know when we’ve safely received it with an acknowledgement email.

Step 3

Application Review Meeting

Before offering you a place at college, we’ll meet with you (either in person, by telephone or online). We’ll send you a link to our booking page where you can select a time that’s convenient for you.

Step 4

Accept Your Place

Offers will be sent to you via the email address you have provided. The offer will be conditional, based on predicted GCSE grades. You’ll need to accept your offer within 14 days to secure your place.

Step 5

What next?

Once you receive your GCSE results, you’ll need to get in touch with the college to inform us of them and start your enrolment process.
