Chichester College is proud to be supporting the British Inspiration Trust
Phil Packer MBE suffered a spinal cord injury in 2008 whilst serving with Her Majesty's Forces. He has subsequently rowed the Channel, walked the London Marathon over 14 days and hauled himself up El Capitan. His efforts inspired millions and gained him national recognition including Fundraiser of the Year and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
He then turned his focus of attention on supporting young people who face adversity. He climbed the 3 Peaks for Sport Relief and smashed his earlier London Marathon record by walking each mile with a young person from each of the 26 charities he sponsored. He is the founder and non-paid Executive of the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT). BRIT's aim is to create a social investment legacy, build a centre of inspiration and reignite self-belief in 'Young People Facing Adversity' here in West Sussex that will be used by young people from around Great Britain.
Phil is calling on the young people, businesses and the British public to join him as he walks 2,012 miles across Great Britain during 2012 to raise £15 million to build a Centre of Inspirational Excellence for young people facing adversity.
Phil’s proposed centre has the backing of a number of high-profile inspirational figures, including Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE, Ade Adepitan, Sir Richard Branson, Sally Gunnell OBE, Eamonn Holmes, Jamie Oliver MBE and the Chief of the Defence Staff, General Sir David Richards.

Our own students are involved making the arrangements for Phil to link with other schools and colleges across the country and help him reach his target of 2,012 miles over 262 days of this year.
